My Story.
About
I am Prof. (Dr.) Divya Tanwar, an academician, cybersecurity expert, and social activist dedicated to empowering communities through education, technology, and skill development. As a Professor at Somaiya Vidyavihar University, Mumbai, and Chairperson of the Divey Foundation, my mission is to uplift underprivileged women and children by providing them with the tools and opportunities they need to thrive.
With a Ph.D. in Computer Science and multiple advanced degrees, I have spent years researching and working in cybersecurity and academia. I also serve on the Board of Directors at the Centre for NAMO Studies, contributing to research and policy initiatives that drive meaningful change.
In 2013, I founded the Divey Foundation to create real impact. Over the years, we have transformed more than 50,000 lives through education, skill development, and empowerment programs. Our foundation was honored with the Best NGO Award in 2024, a testament to our dedication and impact. Additionally, we collaborate with the Rapid Action Force (RAF) to address cases under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) framework, ensuring a safer and more just environment for all.
My work has been recognized with several prestigious honors, including the Ambedkar Award 2024 and the Mahatma Gandhi Award 2024. As Vice President of the Indian American Chamber of Commerce, I am committed to fostering innovation and driving positive change in education, technology, and social empowerment.
